Some development processes are conducted in group-based training programs and others take place in one-on-one coaching sessions.

Career Development: Maximizing In-House Talent through Career Growth
Career Development within a dynamic organization is ripe with exciting opportunities because organizations that develop their talent, keep their talent. The Navigating Your In-House Career Workshop is a full-day training program designed to empower individuals to build and execute a successful in-house career development strategy. Each module of this course drills down to specific behaviors, tools, and scripts that empower participants to progress in identifying best fit opportunities within the organization. Perhaps most importantly, participants will discover how to articulate the unique value they bring to organizations, which will substantially boost confidence and provide clarity regarding the best types of in-house opportunities to pursue.

A Team Builders Plus career development expert will deliver a session that illuminates every aspect of successful career development within your organization. The seminar includes the following components:

Creating a Ten-Year Vision - Utilizing the SAGE™ Attributes Questionnaire, the Thrive Environment™ Questionnaire, and the DiSC Behavioral model, participants will discover how to create a viable Ten-Year Vision within their current work environment.

Increasing Self-Awareness through DiSC® - The DiSC assessment reveals key personal preferences in workplace environments including how participants communicate, make decisions, manage time, solve problems, handle stress, and more. Gaining in-depth awareness of personal style, as revealed by DiSC, can serve as an insightful and steady guide to identifying best-fit environments in a Ten-Year Vision.

Identifying SAGE™ Stories - Participants will develop a clearer picture of what has provided the most satisfaction in their career thus far, which will serve as a guide for determining the best direction going forward. Sage (Situation-Action-Gain-Effect) Stories create a powerful communication tool for articulating value in an interview setting.

Identifying Thrive Environments™ - Most people have experienced success with a given manager or work environment and then have been transitioned to either a new manager or moved to a new environment. Suddenly, the same behaviors that had previously led to success are now creating results that are below expectations. Participants will learn how to identify their Thrive Environments so they can move their careers in the right direction.

Research opportunities within the organization - Just as a typical job hunt requires research into targeted companies and industries, identifying opportunities in-house requires careful research into what areas represent Thrive Environments™. Participants will learn how to conduct organizational research, build relationships in target areas, identify the most sought after skills, and articulate how a transition will benefit the company.

Set up internal networking campaign to achieve results - Ever feel awkward about “tooting your own horn” at the office? Many people do, and opportunities for growth are missed as a result. Participants will learn how to talk about themselves in a confident, yet tactful manner.

Innovative written communications - Participants will receive unique presentation materials and will learn how to create their own. From answering internal job postings to working through the interview process, written communications will become a key factor in achieving success.

Distinguish one’s self through-out the interview process - Participants will learn the most effective strategies for communicating their personal value in an interview setting as a springboard to achieving their goals. They will gain expert guidance on post-interview follow-up, research, overcoming liabilities, navigating the most difficult questions, and the critical dynamic between attitude and body language.

One-on-one Career Coaching
In one-on-one coaching, a Team Builders Plus Career Coach will help individuals to create a customized career development strategy. The coach will help individuals appreciate natural strengths, analyze past performance, uncover negative tendencies, and position themselves for future career success. The Coach will provide guidance in examining the individual’s current career situation and reframe issues in which a current mindset makes it difficult to visualize their career potential. The forward-looking component of the coaching process helps to clarify the vision, anticipate obstacles, and plan for long-term success.

Coachees will consider:

  • What are the primary benefits I bring to organizations?
  • Which industries and companies represent my best-fit for success?
  • What are the steps that will create an efficient and effective search campaign?
  • How can I communicate the unique value that I bring to organizations?

A step-by-step process will guide coachees through a career transition, including items described, such as:

Through one-on-one coaching, participants will learn the critical career development skills that maximize their value and pave the way to long-term success.

Career Transition: Taking Care of Those Who Leave
Lets face it, being let go by a company is one of the more traumatic events a person can experience. The immediate aftermath is typically a swirl of emotions and activities that can often make an already difficult situation even more difficult. Irrespective of income or level, most newly minted job seekers carry fundamental misconceptions about career change subjects such as Interviewing, Networking, Mailings, and Recruiters. These misconceptions transform healthy energy at the start of a job search into tremendous frustration as time is wasted on activities and behaviors not primed for success.

Based upon a decade of in-the-trenches experience with over 1,000 clients at every level, this workshop will equip participants with best practices for career advancement in a rapidly changing employment environment.

Participants will learn how to organize and implement a comprehensive, diversified job search campaign. They will learn specific behaviors, tools, and scripts that empower people to make rapid progress in finding the next job.

The process begins by considering the key question, “What primary benefits do you bring to organizations?” The answers help to steer the job search campaign in the right direction.

Participants will learn best practices regarding:

  • Designing and implementing a diversified career transition campaign
  • Networking with the right people
  • Dealing with recruiters
  • Answering job postings and mailings
  • Selecting best-fit employment targets
  • Getting in front of potential employers
  • Distinguishing themselves in the interview
  • Achieving their career objectives
  • Articulating the value of your skills and experience in the interview
