The foundation of effective leadership is grounded in understanding oneself, understanding others, and realizing the impact of behavior on one's coworkers. Team Builders Plus utilizes the DISC Model to reveal a profile of each leader's behavior. Beyond simply understanding behavioral styles, the session is based on guiding individuals to the realization that we tend to treat others the way we like to be treated, not the way they like to be treated. For example, if you like to receive a lot of details, you probably provide a lot of details. But what if you are communicating to a person who just wants the bottom-line?

Participants will interpret their individual profile and learn about the styles of others. Through dynamic interactive exercises, participants experience their styles as they play-out in a variety of situations, and have the opportunity to adjust behaviors to improve their own leadership skills. Through interactive discussions and exercises, participants discover that they are more likely to be an effective leader by treating others the way they like to be treated. This simple, but profound behavioral shift has the power to transform individual and team performance. The respect, teamwork, and trust fostered by this approach establish an environment in which leaders can thrive.

Participants will examine how styles are displayed in areas such as: Communication, listening, delegation, motivation, influence, time management, conflict management, stress management, and managing change.

The session empowers leaders to:

  • Understand the behavioral styles of self and others
  • Discover how one's own behavior impacts personal and group success
  • Understand and value differences in others
  • Identify ways to adapt behavior to the person and the situation
  • Reduce conflict and stress
  • Improve team communication and morale
  • Create strategies to improve relationships and performance
