Search for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine

Set in modern-day Southwestern United States in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, Search For The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine is a powerful and proven team building event that enlightens and entertains all types of organizations. Teams of six are outfitted in Southwestern attire, given resources and a map, and have a limited amount of time to search for the gold from the famous Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine.

Along the journey, team members face many of the same issues and challenges that groups face in the real world: resource allocation, identifying and implementing the best practices to achieve their goal, and how to maximize their return on investment. This fast-paced, fun simulation creates multiple metaphors that are directly related to critical, real-world issues and objectives.

Some of the issues addressed include:

  • Communication: How does communication impact productivity?
  • Team Building: Is there a win-win mentality present with all individuals striving for the team's success?
  • Team Collaboration: Do the individual teams see themselves in competition with the other teams or do they view each other as components of a larger group?
  • Resource Management: How do teams identify and utilize available resources? What resources are shared with other teams?
  • Leadership: Are teams making the best possible use of the knowledge and experience of their leadership?
  • Decision-Making: Do you base decisions on automatic assumptions or do you analyze options for the greatest Return On Investment?
