Movie Mayhem

team samurai, team building, team activity

Participants are divided into groups of approximately 6-8 members. Each group selects a classic film genre as the theme for their movie. Imagine your coworkers dressed in sci-fi or western costumes. Or picture your team creating a movie on a pirate ship or in medieval times. Using props and costumes provided by Team Builders Plus (as well as anything else the group can find or create), each production team produces a short film that integrates core team values such as respect, effective communication, and strong leadership.

With video cameras in hand, participants play various roles necessary to successfully produce their movie, including director, scriptwriters, performers, set designers, set builders, and sound track singers.

The day begins with the group selecting their movie genre. They discuss the “team themes” for their movie then start writing. After they complete their film, it’s time for the Film Festival. The smell of popcorn and laughter fill the air as they watch the movies created by all of the other groups.

At the end of the program, participants nominate and vote on which performers should be recognized for Best Male Lead, Best Female Lead, and Best Picture. These winners receive a golden (well, actually chocolate) statuette from the Academy of Not-So-Fine Arts.

The result is a memorable experience for all participants who will now look at their colleagues in a whole new “spotlight.”

Throughout the Movie Mayhem experience, we will take the time to discuss the power of teamwork and how they can apply lessons learned back in the workplace.

Movie Mayhem can be conducted as either a half or full-day.
